ComPDF is a product offered by PDF Technologies, providing customers with comprehensive functionality for PDF rendering, editing, conversion, and extraction. On the Make platform, users can ComPDF with any app for processing PDF files, creating workflows tailored to their specific business needs without needing to write code.
In this article, we will guide you on how to create a PDF processing workflow with ComPDF on Make platform.
Step 1: Register Make
Please make sure you have a Make account. You can click to register for the Make account.
Step 2: Install ComPDF on Make
Before you can search for any ComPDF products or features on the Make platform, ComPDF needs to be installed. Depending on your needs, click the link below to install the appropriate ComPDF product.

ComPDFKit PDF Editor: Provides PDF file compression, editing, watermarking, and more.

ComPDFKit PDF Converter: Supports conversion between various file formats and PDF.

ComIDP: An intelligent tool for extracting text, tables, images, and other content from PDF or image files.
Installation Steps:

Click Install as shown in the image below.

Select My Organization, then click Install.
Step 3: Search ComPDF on Make
You can search for ComPDF or ComIDP to find our products: ComPDFKit PDF Editor, ComPDFKit PDF Converter, and ComIDP.
Step 4: Register ComPDF
To get started, you need to register for ComPDF to obtain a License Key, which is required for use on the Make platform. ComPDF offers 1,000 free file processes per month. For additional processing needs, please check our Pricing page for more details.

Register your ComPDF account.

Click Create New Project to receive your License Key immediately.
Step 5: Start to Connect ComPDF with Other Apps
This section guides you through the process of connecting ComPDF with other apps. We will use the PDF to Word of ComPDFKit PDF Converter product as an example.
1. Connect Apps: Choose the source of the PDF file you wish to process and choose the place where you want to save your result files, such as Google Drive, Dropbox, local drive, etc.
I chose Google Drive as an example. Remember to click on Create a connection to connect your Google Drive. If you don’t know how to connect, please follow the given instructions.
2. Choose the ComPDF Features You Need: Follow the steps below to add the necessary triggers or actions.
In this step, only the first action, CreateTask, can be selected based on your needs, while the others need to be added as the steps below. The whole workflow shows like the picture below.

Select the PDF features you want, usually related to CreateTask. All supported features on the Make platform can be checked here.

Click “+” and choose ComPDFKit PDF Converter FileUpload.
Then, set the FileUpload as shown in the following picture:

Click “+” again and choose ComPDFKit PDF Converter StartTask.

Add a flow control repeater to repeat the next process (GetFileInformation from ComPDFKit PDF Converter). Then, set it as shown below:

Add GetFileInformation from ComPDFKit PDF Converter and configure it.

Add a Router to check if the converted Word file link is generated.

Add two routes:

Tools: If the conversion result file is not generated, it will wait a few seconds and repeat retrieving the file information.

HTTP: If the result file is generated, a file URL will be returned.
3. Choose a drive to store the resulting files: For example, select Google Drive to store the converted file.
4. Stop the Process: Choose Stop to complete the file processing.
5. Choose Flow Control —> Commit to end the workflow.
Step 6: Apply License of ComPDF

In your ComPDF account dashboard, click on the Public Key and Secret Key to copy your License.

Paste your License in the designated field on the Make platform and click Save.
Step 7: Start and Test Your Scenarios
Click the Run button in the bottom left corner to execute your workflow and test your setup.
